So reflecting back on the topic of online identities, I found that the views and intensities of the posts significantly increased when i was going through the various posts made by others. I felt that there were much stronger views being shared with very debatable statements being put forth on digital identities.
For my post I felt i focused more on the point of how true are the multiple identities that we have online and to what extent are people creating or hyping their personalities to garner more likes for their profile or content. After going though the various posts by others I found it very interesting for those who posted on the fact of our identity being stolen as due to the ease of access to our information, People are able to falsely use our identity. It hit me that cyber security is another critical area of multiple identity and identity theft. Even though i focused on the aspects of emotion for this topic, It made me realise there is a very real problem we are facing with our identities being stolen and it could possibility lead to great financial loss as pointed out by a post from Yvonne and the movie trailer she featured!
Another debate would be how ethical it is to have more then one identity online? This was brought across by Evelina very well and how different people have very different mindsets on what it means to have multiple identities. I do believe that there are various pros and cons to having both professional and social identities online. It all boils down to who YOU ARE and what do you want to achieve as a personal brand online. As lets face it, it this age everyone has their own personal branding! Even MR EBRA!
